Approximately 80.

Approximately 90% hardwood and 10% softwood, from a variety of species locally grown.

Both our air dried and kiln dried firewood have moisture content below 20% with kiln dried often 15% or less. We monitor moisture content regularly.

Ideally in a purpose-built covered log store with a good through flow of air. Cover promptly after delivery.

Kiln dried firewood gives a hotter, cleaner burn and therefore significantly better performance.

Softwood is not as dense as hardwood and therefore burns quicker, so often useful in getting a fire started. Hardwood will burn for longer and not need topping up as frequently.
